DMRC Partners with Beckhaul Digital to Enhance Internet Connectivity Across Metro Corridors
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed an agreement with Beckhaul Digital Technologies Private Limited to enhance internet connectivity across all metro corridors, according to an official statement released on Friday.
As part of this initiative, 700 km of fiber optic cables will be installed along all metro lines, including the Airport Line. The rollout will be executed in phases, with the Pink and Magenta Lines being the first to go live. The remaining corridors are expected to be connected within the next six months.
This advanced fiber network will act as the backbone for high-speed internet, benefiting telecom operators, internet service providers, data centers, and smart city projects. It will also play a key role in the seamless rollout of 5G services across Delhi-NCR.
Aligning with the Indian government’s vision of a digitally connected nation, the project aims to empower telecom providers with faster, more reliable internet services while enabling DMRC to optimize its existing infrastructure. Given the rising demand for high-speed internet and 5G expansion, this initiative is expected to significantly enhance Delhi’s digital connectivity, making the city more future-ready.
