Tremors from a 4.8-Magnitude Earthquake Hit Lahore and Several Punjab Cities
Earlier today, residents across multiple cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Kharian, Jhelum, and Sarai Alamgir, experienced strong tremors from an earthquake.
The quake, which struck just after noon, caused widespread panic among locals. However, authorities have confirmed that there were no reports of fatalities or significant damage to property.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8 and a depth of 15 kilometers, had its epicenter near Kharian in the Gujrat district, where tremors were felt most strongly.
The shaking was felt across a wide area, with buildings swaying and brief power outages reported in Lahore and nearby regions.
Despite the intensity of the tremors, no casualties or major property damage have been reported from Lahore or its neighboring areas.
In the wake of the earthquake, many residents rushed outside in fear and recited verses from the Holy Quran for comfort. Fortunately, the capital and surrounding areas have not reported any significant loss of life or property.
