The National Innovation Visa (subclass 858) is a permanent visa for outstanding global talent. It is an invitation-only visa, requiring applicants to first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and receive an official invitation from the Australian Department of Home Affairs before applying.

Eligibility Criteria for the NIV 2025
To qualify for the National Innovation Visa, applicants must:

Be nominated by an individual or organization with a national reputation in the relevant field, which can be:

- There is no age limit, but applicants under 18 or over 55 must prove their contributions will provide exceptional benefits to Australia.
