Cristiano Ronaldo Praises Vinicius: “He Deserved the Ballon d’Or”
At the Globe Soccer Awards, where Cristiano Ronaldo was honored as the greatest goalscorer of all time, the Portuguese star shared his thoughts on the Ballon d’Or and expressed his admiration for Vinicius Junior.
“I enjoy seeing players compare themselves to me—in their shooting, their physicality,” Ronaldo said. “Bellingham, Lamine, Vinicius… Vinicius deserved to win the Ballon d’Or. He won the Champions League and delivered an incredible performance in the final. That’s why I value awards like this even more.”
Reflecting on his own recognition, Ronaldo expressed gratitude and determination to keep competing at the highest level. “It’s an honor to be here; this event feels unique. Receiving this award means a lot to me, spanning generations of players. It inspires me to continue scoring goals and improving. Thanks to my family for always supporting me.
