The Lisbon Metro will be completely shut down as part of a planned 24-hour general strike affecting transport services across the city.
According to the announcement, metro operations will stop earlier than the official strike date. The service is expected to close at 11:00 PM on June 2, after which no trains will run and all stations will be closed.
The shutdown will continue throughout June 3, leaving the city without metro services for the entire day. Authorities have confirmed that there will be no minimum service during the strike period, meaning all metro lines and stations will remain fully inactive.
Normal operations are expected to resume on June 4 at approximately 6:30 AM.
The strike is part of broader industrial action involving multiple public transport workers. It is linked to ongoing disputes over proposed changes to labor policies and working conditions.
Commuters are advised to plan ahead and use alternative transportation methods such as buses, taxis, or other available services during the disruption.
