Lisbon Metro Extends Hours on New Year’s Eve
The Lisbon Metro will operate until 3:00 AM on New Year’s Eve, providing extended service on the Blue and Green lines to accommodate New Year celebrations. In a statement, Metropolitano de Lisboa announced the extended hours as part of its support for the festivities in the city.
The Blue Line will have several stations open until 3:00 AM, including Reboleira, Amadora Este, Pontinha, Colégio Militar/Luz, Jardim Zoológico, São Sebastião, Marquês de Pombal, Restauradores, and Baixa Chiado.
On the Green Line, the stations of Telheiras, Campo Grande, Areeiro, Alameda, Anjos, Rossio, Baixa-Chiado, and Cais do Sodré will remain open.
Metropolitano de Lisboa also noted that Terreiro do Paço station will close at 5:00 PM on December 31st for the celebrations in Praça do Comércio. It will reopen at 6:30 AM on January 1st. Passengers are advised to use Cais do Sodré or Baixa-Chiado stations, which will remain open through the early hours until 3:00 AM.
