Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has affirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing medical facilities in the province to better serve underprivileged patients.
During the inauguration of a new emergency block at Indus Hospital in Jubilee Town, Lahore, she expressed her goal of improving every hospital in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz stated, “We will enhance the healthcare system by leveraging the expertise and systems of Indus Hospital.” She announced plans for collaboration with Indus Hospital for heart and bone marrow transplants and called for a comprehensive strategy to upgrade government hospitals with the support of industrial trusts. She also pledged to take joint actions for pediatric heart surgeries.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister toured various departments of Indus Hospital, inspecting the resuscitation unit, pediatrics, CT scan area, nursing station, information desk, and family medicine centers. She spoke with children receiving treatment in the emergency ward, wishing them a speedy recovery, and interacted with other patients, their families, and medical staff to learn about the available treatment options. Additionally, she observed the treatment processes and the hospital’s paperless dashboard system.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized, “We are dedicated to public service.” She noted, “A position of authority comes with significant responsibilities; a wise decision can positively impact millions of lives.”
