Dubai New Year 2025: Complete Information on Public Transport and Free Parking
As Dubai prepares to welcome the New Year, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced extended operating hours for public transport services, including the Metro, tram, buses, and ferries. The RTA is encouraging residents and visitors to use public transportation for a smoother New Year’s celebration.
Dubai Metro and Tram
- Dubai Metro will operate for 43 continuous hours, starting at 5:00 AM on December 31 and running until midnight on January 1.
- Dubai Tram will operate from 6:00 AM on December 31 until 1:00 AM on January 2.
Parking
- All public parking areas (excluding multi-storey parking) will be free on January 1, 2025, for the New Year holiday. Paid parking will resume on January 2, 2025.
Customer Happiness Centres
- These centres will be closed on January 1, 2025, and will reopen on January 2, 2025, following regular working hours.
Public Buses
- For updated bus schedules during the New Year period, residents should check the S’hail app.
- Route E100 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will be suspended from December 31, 2024, to January 1, 2025. Passengers should use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi.
- Route E102 from Al Jafiliya Bus Station will also be suspended during this period. Passengers should use the same route from Ibn Battuta to Shabiya Musaffah.

- Water Taxi services:
- Marina Mall — Bluewaters (BM3): From 4:00 PM to midnight.
- On-demand services: From 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (booking required).
- Marina Mall 1 — Marina Walk (BM1): From 12:00 PM to 11:10 PM.
- Marina Promenade — Marina Mall 1 (BM1): From 1:50 PM to 9:45 PM.
- Marina Terrace — Marina Walk (BM1): From 1:50 PM to 9:50 PM.
- Dubai Ferry services:
- Al Ghubaiba — Dubai Water Canal (FR1): Departing at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
- Dubai Water Canal — Al Ghubaiba (FR1): Departing at 2:25 PM and 7:25 PM.
- Dubai Water Canal — Bluewaters (FR2): Departing at 1:50 PM and 6:50 PM.
