Diljit Dosanjh Criticizes Concert Infrastructure in India, Vows Not to Perform Until Improvements Are Made
Punjabi music icon and actor Diljit Dosanjh has taken a strong stance on the inadequate state of concert infrastructure in India, announcing he will not perform in the country again until significant changes are implemented.
During a high-energy performance in Chandigarh on Saturday, Diljit paused to address the issue, a moment that quickly went viral on social media. Speaking passionately in Punjabi, he remarked, “India lacks the infrastructure needed for quality live shows. This industry generates significant revenue and supports many livelihoods, yet it is overlooked. Authorities must prioritize improving this sector.”
The Lover singer also stressed the importance of better concert layouts to enhance audience experiences. Sharing his vision, he suggested a central stage design with fans surrounding it, and added, “Until these issues are resolved, I won’t perform here. Fix the infrastructure instead of creating difficulties for us.”
Diljit’s remarks have ignited widespread discussions about live event management in India, especially in light of the rapid growth of the entertainment and music industries.
As part of his ongoing Dil-Luminati Tour, Diljit is scheduled to perform in Mumbai next, with the Indian leg of the tour wrapping up in Guwahati on December 29.
