Pakistan’s IT exports have witnessed a decline for the first time in over a year, breaking a 13-month streak of consistent growth.
In November 2024, IT exports dropped by $6 million compared to October, reflecting a 2% decrease on a month-to-month basis.
As per data from the State Bank of Pakistan, IT exports stood at $324 million in October 2024 but fell to $318 million in November. Despite this monthly dip, the sector recorded a 25% increase compared to November last year, demonstrating strong year-on-year performance.
During the first five months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s IT exports reached $1.53 billion, a significant rise from $1.15 billion in the same period last fiscal year.
Experts in the industry highlight the importance of tackling barriers to export growth to ensure the continuation of the upward trend observed over the past year.
