The U.S. Embassy in Türkiye is transitioning to a new visa appointment system that will take effect on May 30, 2025. This change applies to all individuals applying for both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. The new platform, will replace the current system and offer improved scheduling, fee payment, and document submission features.
Several key deadlines are in place for the transition:
- May 14, 2025: Last day to pay visa fees using cash.
- May 17, 2025: Final day to pay visa fees using a credit card.
- May 18–29, 2025: The current system becomes read-only. No updates or changes can be made.
- May 19, 2025: Final day to schedule immigrant visa appointments using the existing platform.
- May 23, 2025: Last day to drop off supporting documents at designated locations.
- May 30, 2025: Full switch to the new platform at ustraveldocs.com.
Applicants should take the following steps based on their current status:
- If you already have an appointment, verify that your DS-160 barcode number matches the one on file.
- If you’ve paid your visa fee but haven’t scheduled an appointment, you must do so by May 18 using the current system.
- If you have not yet started the process, note that cash payments end on May 14 and credit card payments on May 17.
- If you’ve been instructed to submit documents, be sure to complete your submission by May 23 to prevent any processing delays.
- Immigrant visa applicants who have already scheduled appointments do not need to take further action before May 30. If you’ve paid but haven’t scheduled, you must do so by May 19.
After May 30, all applicants will need to use the new system and follow instructions for applicants from the previous platform.
