USCIS has released the Filing Dates for the June 2025 Visa Bulletin, opening the door for many individuals waiting in family and employment-based green card categories to move forward with their adjustment of status applications.
For applicants already in the United States under temporary visas, this update is especially important. It means that many can now submit Form I-485, the final step to becoming a lawful permanent resident, based on the “Dates for Filing” chart.
This month’s bulletin brings key advantages to both family-sponsored and employment-based applicants. Categories such as F1, F2A, F2B, F3, and F4 are included, along with EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, and select EB-5 visa types. The bulletin is particularly favorable for applicants from countries with traditionally long wait times, such as India, Mexico, and the Philippines.
Spouses and children of U.S. permanent residents in the F2A category can file immediately, as the dates are current worldwide. Employment-based applicants in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories from countries like the Philippines, Mexico, and other general chargeability areas now have the chance to file as well.
To check if you’re eligible to submit Form I-485 in June 2025:
- Identify your visa category (e.g., F1, EB-2).
- Find your country of chargeability (usually your country of birth).
- Review the “Dates for Filing” chart on the USCIS website.
- If your priority date is earlier than the listed date, you can file in June.
Your priority date is generally the date your immigrant petition (Form I-130 or I-140) was filed, or when your labor certification was accepted, if required.
Being able to file Form I-485 has several benefits: it lets you secure work authorization (EAD), apply for a travel permit (advance parole), and begin the final process toward receiving your green card. Even if your final approval takes time, filing now helps protect your place in line.
