
Abu Dhabi Police Gear Up for Safe New Year’s Eve Celebrations with Comprehensive Security Plan
Abu Dhabi, 28th December 2024 (WAM) – Abu Dhabi Police have announced a detailed security plan, developed in collaboration with strategic partners, to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of New Year’s Eve celebrations across the emirate. The initiative aims to manage traffic efficiently and reduce congestion while safeguarding public well-being.
Security and Traffic Management
Major General Ahmed Saif Bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, highlighted that the plan focuses on securing key tourist areas, commercial centers, and traffic during the celebrations. The goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate has reaffirmed its readiness to enhance road safety through proactive measures. Motorists are advised to follow traffic regulations, adhere to speed limits, avoid distractions such as mobile phones, and maintain safe distances between vehicles.
The Directorate also issued warnings against reckless behavior, such as unsafe use of party sprays, dangerous driving, and excessive noise, urging the public to cooperate with guidelines to ensure a secure and positive festive atmosphere.
Operational Preparedness
The Command and Control Centre, part of the Central Operations Sector, has finalized its preparations for the celebrations. Brigadier General Nasser Sulaiman Al Maskari, Director of the Operations Department, stated that the operations room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly trained personnel to manage any situation effectively.
