Passport and Immigration authorities have announced that the addition of 10 new printers has effectively doubled their production capacity.
ISLAMABAD: (Pakistan News – Nov 8th, 2024) In a significant development for Pakistanis, the long-standing issue of passport delays has now been resolved, according to immigration officials.
The installation of advanced, high-performance passport printers has been completed, effectively doubling the printing capacity of the Department of Passports.
Passport and Immigration authorities confirmed that the addition of 10 new printers has increased the department’s output, enabling the printing of 40,000 passports per day, up from the previous capacity of 20,000.
Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, shared that seven more state-of-the-art printers will soon be arriving at the Passport Headquarters, with two specifically ordered for the production of e-passports.
Qazi emphasized that the introduction of these modern printers has significantly boosted the department’s ability to process applications, allowing for the daily clearing of the backlog.
