An early taste of summer is expected in Portugal next week as temperatures are set to rise above 30ºC in several areas.

Weather experts say warm air coming from North Africa will bring hotter-than-normal conditions across the country. Cities including Lisbon could see temperatures close to 30ºC, while inland regions may become even hotter.

The warm weather is expected to last for several days, bringing sunny skies and high UV levels. Officials are advising people to stay hydrated and avoid spending too much time in the sun during the hottest hours of the day.

The hot conditions could also increase the risk of wildfires in dry areas.

Portugal is not the only country affected, as Spain and parts of France are also expected to experience unusually high temperatures next week.
