Hangzhou Emerges as a Leading Tech Hub with Thriving Startups
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, is quickly becoming a prominent technology hub, with startups like DeepSeek, Unitree, and Game Science gaining traction.
The city’s success is attributed to its vibrant “atmosphere of innovation,” supported by government policies that include tax incentives, industrial park development, and strong financial backing. In 2024, Hangzhou’s “core digital economy industries” contributed ¥630.5 billion to the local economy, marking a 7.1% year-on-year growth and representing nearly a third of the city’s GDP.
