Canada has announced the results of its latest Express Entry draw, inviting foreign nationals to apply for permanent residence. The most recent draw, conducted on March 6, 2025, was specifically for candidates under the French language proficiency category of the Express Entry system.
On this date, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,500 invitations to apply for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was 410. In cases where multiple candidates had the same CRS score, the tie-breaking rule was applied based on the date and time of profile submission, with the cut-off set at February 11, 2025, at 07:47:29 UTC.
In the previous draw for French language proficiency candidates, conducted on February 19, 2025, 6,500 invitations were issued, with the lowest CRS score set at 428.
The CRS is a points-based system used to evaluate and rank candidates in the Express Entry pool. Factors such as skills, education, work experience, and language proficiency are assessed to determine eligibility for an invitation to apply. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English or French by taking an authorized language test and meeting the minimum required scores. The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are used to evaluate English proficiency, while the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadien (NCLC) is used for French.
Canada’s Express Entry system conducts selection rounds approximately every two weeks, issuing invitations for various immigration programs, including the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Additionally, the most recent Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw was held on March 3, 2025, issuing 725 invitations to apply, with the lowest-ranked candidate having a CRS score of 667. The PNP allows foreign nationals to apply for permanent residency based on their intent to live and work in a specific Canadian province or territory.
The distribution of CRS scores among candidates in the Express Entry pool as of March 3, 2025, reflects the overall number of candidates before an invitation round. These numbers may shift as new profiles are submitted and existing ones expire.
