Diana Camejo, an athlete from the José Jacob Academy in Portalegre, was crowned national under-20 javelin throw champion.
The feat was achieved on the athletics track in Vagos, last weekend, during the National Long Throw Championships.
The athlete managed to perform an excellent competition, the best ever, by achieving two throws over 38 meters, exactly the same 38.86 meters.
The winning throw of 39.93 meters, 1 centimeter more than her personal and district record, under-20, under-23, and absolute, was achieved on the same track, where exactly one year ago she was placed third.
This feat marks the second National Champion title for Diana Camejo, who previously won the U18 National Championship in 2023, held in Sobreira-Almada.
