Portugal is portrayed as a warm and inclusive country, recognized for its strong commitment to LGBTI+ rights. The organizers of EuroPride 2025 highlight that, amid increasing political polarization in Portugal and across Europe, the event gains even more relevance.
The celebration will feature a diverse lineup of concerts, performances, workshops, art exhibitions, and other cultural activities. Under the theme “Proudly Yourselves,” the event encourages participants to embrace authenticity and unity, emphasizing that everyone deserves to live with pride, visibility, and freedom—free from fear or shame.
In the event’s presentation, organizers stress the importance of solidarity in times of social and political challenges. EuroPride 2025 is described as a platform to amplify voices, celebrate individual identities, and advocate for the protection of human rights.
Portugal’s progress in advancing LGBTI+ rights is noted as significant, including the legalization of same-sex marriage in 2010. Through a combination of a colorful parade, impactful speeches, cultural experiences, and a Human Rights Conference, the event aims to place love, acceptance, and diversity at the forefront.
Thousands of attendees from around the globe are expected to join. One of the key moments will be the Pride march, taking place on the 21st, beginning in Saldanha and moving down Avenida da Liberdade toward Terreiro do Paço.
