Portalegre City Council and the Polytechnic will officially open a new student residence this Friday, following an investment of 800 thousand euros, co-financed by European funds.
The space, located on Rua Temudo Oliveira, which also gives its name to the new residence, has capacity to accommodate 24 students.
Speaking to Rádio Portalegre, the vice president of the Polytechnic of Portalegre (IPP), Fernando Rebola, explained that the equipment is already being used and that it mainly serves the Higher School of Education and Social Sciences.
The property, located in the city center of Portalegre, about 300 meters from the Higher School of Education and Social Sciences (ESECS), has 24 beds distributed in single and double rooms.
The official opening of the space, which once housed a residence for secondary school students, is scheduled for 11:00.
