The Sultanate of Oman has officially introduced its E-Visa Program for 2025, offering a more convenient way for international travelers to visit this stunning destination. With a fully online system, visitors can now apply for visas without the hassle of long queues or extensive paperwork.
The updated digital visa system allows applicants to complete the entire process online, from submission to payment and approval. Whether planning a short getaway or an extended trip, obtaining a visa is now quicker and more efficient.
Travelers from eligible countries can now apply for an unsponsored tourist visa, making it easier to visit Oman for a specific duration without requiring local sponsorship.
To attract more visitors, Oman has streamlined visa requirements for travelers from 103 countries. This enhancement ensures faster processing times and easier entry procedures.
Oman has also introduced key changes to its work visa and immigration policies to balance workforce regulations and boost local employment. These updates include:
- A six-month suspension (starting September 2024) applies to select private-sector roles such as construction workers, tailors, chefs, and barbers.
- Revised labor laws include a 40-hour workweek, increased leave entitlements, standardized employment contracts, and recognition of remote work.
- Foreign-owned businesses are now required to hire at least one Omani national within their first year of operation.
- Employers must provide compulsory health insurance for all expatriate employees starting in 2025.
- A new wage policy mandates that salaries be transferred within three days of the due date to ensure timely payments.
These reforms aim to enhance Oman’s labor market, streamline visitor access, and boost tourism and economic growth. Travelers and expatriates are encouraged to stay informed about the latest regulations for a smooth experience.
