LISBON, PORTUGAL — A strong spell of unusually warm weather continues to grip Lisbon tonight, as temperatures across the capital surged into the low 30s Celsius under clear blue skies and intense sunshine.
Meteorologists say the current heat pattern is being driven by a warm air mass moving north across the Iberian Peninsula, creating dry conditions and extended sunshine throughout much of Portugal. Residents across Lisbon experienced crowded parks, busy waterfront cafés, and heavy foot traffic near the city’s historic districts as locals and tourists took advantage of the summer-like atmosphere.
Along the Tagus River, evening temperatures remained comfortably warm, with light Atlantic winds providing limited relief after one of the hottest afternoons of the season so far.
LIVE CONDITIONS ACROSS LISBON

- Temperatures remaining warm after sunset
- Dry air and excellent visibility
- Light coastal breeze moving inland
- No significant rainfall expected
Officials are encouraging residents to stay hydrated and limit direct sun exposure during peak afternoon hours, especially as UV levels remain elevated across the region.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
Forecasters expect the warm weather to continue through the weekend, with daytime highs remaining near or above 30°C. Beaches along the Lisbon coastline, including nearby Cascais and Costa da Caparica, are expected to see a sharp increase in visitors as the city experiences an early taste of summer.
Tourism operators say the favorable weather has already boosted outdoor dining, sightseeing tours, and riverfront activity throughout the capital.
Despite the heat, conditions remain stable, with no major storms or weather disruptions currently expected.
